Hazen and Sawyer is seeking candidates with 10 - 15 years of experience in planning and design of water-related projects, with a focus on treatment facilities and processes, distribution systems, and water resources. Candidate to be involved with a wide range of water infrastructure projects, both locally and nationwide. Projects can include water resources planning, treatment process design and construction, and water distribution, including pumping and pipelines.

Candidate must have experience in the design of water facilities with strong knowledge and background of treatment equipment and pumping systems. Experience should encompass hydraulic evaluations/modeling, conceptual/feasibility studies, preparation of design reports, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services. 

In addition to the technical requirements, the position requires experience with project management. The position will include assistance with client development and management in our San Francisco, California office.

Minimum educational requirements are a BS degree in environmental, civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering (MS Preferred). A current California PE license is required.

Qualifications/Skills required

• Experience in planning, design, and construction for water treatment and distribution facilities
• Experience in planning for water resources.
• Experience in managing projects up to $250,000.
• Experience in preparing consulting engineering proposals and participating in client interviews.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Proficient in English
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Self-starter with attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Some travel may be required but it is not anticipated to be extensive.
