Hazen is currently seeking applicants for a Senior-Level Civil/Site Engineer for a full-time employment opportunity in our Springfield, IL office. Prospective applicants must have a minimum of 15 years of experience and a BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. Prospective applicants must also have a Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain such in the State of Illinois and other states as requested.

The position will:

• Require skills in the analysis, design, and construction of heavy civil works such as dams, levees, and general site improvements. The selected individual will lead the civil design, drawing production, specification development, and construction administration responsibilities for major projects involving dams, levees, and upgrades to water/wastewater treatment plants, and site utilities. Majority of projects will be in midwestern states. 
• Design and develop grading plans using Civil 3D and prepare General and Civil construction drawing sheets including site plans, profiles, sections, and details. Additionally, it will require the development of alignments and profiles of roadways, pipelines, dams/levees, and drainage features. 
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as structural, process mechanical, and electrical.
• Ensure drawing compliance with company and client CAD standards and styles.
• Lead a team in regard to design/drawing production.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge and understanding of civil engineering design principles and codes related to dams, levees, stormwater, and utilities.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D skills required including experience with Surfaces, Alignments, Profiles, Points, and Corridors.
• AutoCAD Sheet Set Manager experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D Hydraflow Extensions including Storm Sewers and Hydrographs.
• Microsoft Office skills required.
• Candidates must be an effective communicator and be able to successfully work in a multi-discipline team environment.
