Analyst - Utility Management Services - Enterprise Risk - Organizational Health

Hazen and Sawyer, a leader in the water and wastewater industry, is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Analyst to join our expanding Utility Management Services (UMS) Enterprise Risk / Organizational Health group based in Fort Collins or Denver, Colorado. Primary Responsibilities: 

As an Analyst in our UMS group, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team's mission. You will support senior staff in the development and execution of project work and support various Project Managers through both preparation for and participation in client-facing meetings. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Clear Communication: Craft concise and comprehensible technical documents, reports, and presentations that effectively convey complex concepts to both internal team members and clients. 
  • Data Interpretation: Translate intricate data and analysis into reader-friendly formats, ensuring accurate representation and actionable insights. 
  • Collaborative Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather information and insights, ensuring accurate and up-to-date technical documentation. 
  • Quality Assurance: Review and edit technical content to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards. 
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, producing documentation that aligns with their requirements and supports their understanding of project outcomes. 
  • Process Analysis: Analyze existing business processes within utilities, identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement to enhance overall operational effectiveness. 
  • Model Creation: Develop detailed business process models using appropriate tools and methodologies, visualizing workflows, data flows, and decision points. 
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure accurate representation of processes, fostering a unified understanding. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement process enhancements based on modeling insights, contributing to the optimization of utility management practices. 
  • Change Facilitation: Translating process models into actionable insights that support effective decision-making and implementation. 
  • Multifaceted Support: Assist in various UMS functionalities within financial services, asset management, enterprise risk, and business intelligence functions. 

Qualifications: 

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s (BS or BA) and Master’s Degree (MS/MA/MBA or similar) in economics, finance, business administration, accounting, data analytics, risk management, or a related field. 
  • 0-4 years relevant experience 
  • Experience in Business Process Modeling, Change Management and Risk Management is a plus 
  • Water or other utility industry experience is preferred but not required 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database models (expertise in Microsoft Excel and Access)
