Opportunity:
To execute assigned tasks and duties to allow the R&T laboratories to maintain current and future testing activities and deliver consistent results and services to the customer with some direct supervision.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent with some advanced education required. Associate's Degree preferred.
Experience:
High School Diploma/equivalent w/some advanced Education and 3 years pertinent industrial or laboratory experience required; Associate's Degree in technical field and 2 years pertinent industrial or laboratory experience preferred.
Areas of Knowledge:
Safety and sample preparation knowledge required. High Temperature Testing, Heat Treating, Instrumentation and Controllers, Chemistry, Calibration and Specifications and Metallurgy knowledge is preferred.
Skills:
Microsoft Office, interpersonal skills and the ability to follow written procedures are required. Advanced math, Analytical skills, writing, and organizational skills are preferred.
Specific Accountabilities for the Role:
Communication-
Effectively and clearly communicate and contribute professional and personal knowledge to enhance the skills of others. Remain receptive to direction and training necessary to meet qualifications required for assigned tasks. Accept feedback in a positive manner and encourage two-way communication of ideas and improvements. Serve as role model by attending daily safety meetings, correcting safety concerns when they arise, and participating in safety audits. Motivate others to achieve results through example and encouragement. Assist Supervision/Maintenance in developing equipment maintenance plans for the High Temperature Lab.
Processes Used-
Perform standardized testing and analysis functions in the High Temperature Lab considering Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost. Duties include but are not limited to: Sample Preparation, Compiling and Reporting Data, High Temperature Quality Control Testing, Corrosion Quality Control Testing, Equipment Verification/Calibration, Heat Treatments, and Specialty Testing as assigned. Provide technical support using test equipment within the High Temperature Lab following established guidelines. Assist Supervisor/Lead in developing process, equipment, and procedural improvements. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Cross-functional Relations-
Recognize responsibilities based on organizational structure and communicate with appropriate individuals responsible. Assist Supervision/Lead in process and procedural improvement projects, maintaining laboratory procedures, equipment, calibrations, and training to meet internal/external quality requirements, accreditation mandates (NADCAP, ISO, etc.), and industry standards (ASTM, ASM, etc.).
