The Chief Operating Officer (COO) partners with executive team to lead, architect and implement strategic objectives and operational improvement initiatives. Directs and oversees day-to-day operations of the stores, warehouses, distribution centers and vendor logistics with the goal of exceeding the expectations of our internal and external customers. We are looking for an industry-expert that will develop and implement world-class operational procedures and processes that ensure maximum efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Implement strategically important cross-functional projects, facilitating operational progress, as well as identifying and resolving blockers. Foster and enable cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Ensure accountability of tasks and projects related to strategic business goals are planned, managed, and delivered effectively across the organization
  • Build and maintain a high-performance culture with effective governance and reporting procedures: foster a positive “can do” corporate culture with high levels of positive energy.
  • Develop and implement communication plans across the company to ensure teams are aligned around mission, strategy, and goals; ensure reporting teams are aligned on strategic priorities and deliverables.
  • Ensure achievement of collaboration and engagement from key stakeholders within the business.
  • Manage budget for optimum P&L performance.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with shipping, delivery, supply companies and all operational business partners.
  • Maintain and outstanding level of quality, improving the supply chain flow for efficiency & effectiveness; while continuously striving for a zero-fault environment.
  • Lead the Company initiatives to improve the quality of inventory control
  • Lead key operational deliverables that ensure sustainability
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth initiatives
  • Ensure the company vision and mission are executed and team performance is properly measured to stretch and inspire
  • Oversee daily operations of the company and the staffing needs of the business
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics using best practice
  • Provide clear updates & key results to Executive team on progress, blockers and risks associated with strategic objectives and ongoing projects.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build effective and consistent governance and reporting structures.
  • Goal-set and direct the operations of the company in support of its goals. Measure progress, adjust processes accordingly and manage expectations in a professional manner
  • Ensure optimum logistical movement of all products, supplies and merchandise
  • Conduct regular meetings with the staff at all levels to discuss trends, future forecasts and prioritize projects
  • Develop and publish various weekly, monthly, semiannual, annual, and adhoc reports
  • Coach/develop/train. Perform annual reviews.

Qualifications

  • A skilled and confident communicator (verbal and written)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Exercise discernment and good judgment
  • Prioritize efficient time management; ability to effectively support all workgroups
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of business lines and products/services
  • Resourceful and detail oriented
  • Work independently and effectively across multiple projects and teams
  • Drives for high productivity/performance and knows the tools and techniques which can be leveraged
  • Enjoys breaking complex problems into simple solutions
  • Strong project management and planning skills

Education: 4-year Degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, and/or and Business Administration, Masters and/or APICS certified a plus

Experience: 5 years at the executive level with an understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
