Quality Control Technician :

Tropical Nut & Fruit, the nation's TOP privately owned and operated Nut and Snack Company has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Quality Control Technician.

Summary :

Reports directly to the Director of Quality Control and works directly with the Quality Control team. Responsible for the quality, food safety and visual aspects of finished products.

Must follow through on all internal process as well as ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and all other food safety guidelines.

Work Environment :

Exposed to all areas of food production plant to include lower and higher levels of building, loud noises and vibration, with possibility of food allergens being present.

The noise level in some work areas may be abundant; ear protection may be required.

Physical Demands of Position :

Employee is regularly required to stand and walk in the duration of the work shift. Infrequently required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and / or crouch.

Required to lift up to 15-50 pounds frequently, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds.

Candidate Qualifications : Education and Experience Required :

High school diploma or GED HACCP, GFSI, and SQF knowledge Prior QC position held.

Preferred :

Food Manufacturing experience Associates Degree

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Ability to sample, inspect, document, and address food safety / quality concerns.

Good math skills.

Problem solving skills. Responsible for day-to-day quality control operations.

Computer skills. Knowledge of Email, Word, Excel, and basic computer programs.

Ability to create routine reports and correspondence.

Superior teamwork mindset.

Must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
