Haycon Construction is a Boston-based builder with a focused effort of energy savings, and reducing embodied carbon, Our pipeline of Deep Energy RetroFit and Passive House projects is growing, and we have an immediate opportunity on our Project Management team!

This role is suited to someone with architectural experience in building enclosures, looking to make the switch to construction. Having some experience with - or exposure to - construction administration to complement your 3-4 years' experience in office architectural work would be ideal. This is an excellent career opportunity that will give you exposure to cutting edge building methodology, working on Passive House-standard buildings, as well as making an impact on Boston's Affordable Housing. You'll work on all aspects of the project lifecycle - from estimating through completion!

Some of the tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Optimize, quantity-survey, and forecast costs for both new construction as well as deep energy retrofit building enclosures.
• Detail building enclosures, façade systems etc.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn take offs, estimates and procuring all components of an enclosure, including management of submittals.
• Learning to support the Project Management function:
  • Reviewing specs, ensuring accurate execution
  • Engaging and contracting Sub-Contractors
  • RFI's, Submittals, Lien Waivers
  • Drafting Contracts and Purchase Orders
• Working closely with field staff, monitoring project progress
• Attending client meetings, walk-throughs, etc.

Experience or desire to learn Passive House enclosures is a huge plus, as is experience in reviewing façade/enclosure shop drawings
