Job Description:

Canandaigua Finger Lakes Resort, opening Spring 2023, is actively searching for a passionate, organized, and results-driven Banquet Server to join our team of hospitality professionals in this new build Hilton Tapestry Collection Hotel.

The destination resort and conference center is situated on the north shore of Canandaigua Lake, providing guests with spectacular southerly waterfront views. The property will feature 109 guest rooms and suites, a destination restaurant with seasonal waterfront patio, outdoor pool and tiki bar, 8,100 square feet of meeting, conference and special event facilities, outdoor tents, a world class 3,500 square foot wellness spa and public dock slips for boaters.

The resort will also be home to 44 upscale residential condominiums, offering one, two and three-bedroom units on the fourth and fifth floors to be accessed by private elevator entrance. Owners will enjoy personal concierge level services provided by the resort and spa. The condominiums are currently being marketed by Howard Hanna Real Estate.

Job Summary:

  • Set-up and break-down of events according to BEO and floor plan outlines, including moving/stacking tables and chairs, setting linens, flatware, and glassware, arranging décor, setting and breaking down buffet line, and all other assigned pre-function duties.
  • Service events according to BEO timing and direction from Banquet Captain.
  • Provide bottled wine service to tables according to standards.
  • Tend to stationary hors d’oeuvres or perform passed hors d’oeuvre service to guests.
  • Act as client contact when assigned.
  • Clear the meeting room, including stationary in-room trays and covered carts to break-down buffets. Sort and assist culinary team with breaking down and addressing excess banquet food.
  • Act as buffet runner, effectively communicating to culinary staff when additional food items are needed in the event space.
  • Maintain proper storage of banquet décor, tools, linens, and equipment.
  • Complete designated pre-event, side work, and post-event tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
Experience and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year serving experience in a restaurant, catering, or banquet capacity preferred.
  • Previous alcohol service training a plus.
  • Ability to work in a constructive, team working environment with a positive, upbeat and customer-focused attitude.
  • Proven success in customer service roles.
  • Flexibility to work nights or mornings, weekends, holidays, and busy seasonal days (i.e. town festivals).
  • May be subject to successful completion of background check and/or DMV check.
