The function of the Capital Improvement & Construction Project Coordinator position is to provide implementation, oversight, and support for small and mid-sized construction and facilities projects throughout the East Hawaii Region. It is estimated that the project coordinators work will be initially split between our facilities in Hilo, Keaau and Pahala (70 percent in Hilo; 30 percent between Keaau and Pahala).
The Project Coordinator will direct and manage assigned projects while following organizational policies, programs, budget, and schedules to accomplish goals and objectives. This position also directs assigned projects with adherence to planning, execution, monitoring, and closing within standard project management methodology.
Successful applicants will have experience with:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Graduation form a four-year college or university with a bachelors degree.
Excess work experience of responsible administrative or professional/analytical work experience which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four years of successful study while completing a university or college curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge, skills and abilities.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or equivalent) preferred; Active Hawaii contractors license preferred.
