Hawaii Credit Union League is Hiring an Education and Training Director Near Honolulu, HI

Job Overview:

The Hawaii Credit Union League (HCUL) is currently in search of an events professional to serve as their Education and Training Director. Reporting directly to the Engagement Manager, this individual will be responsible for the execution of educational events including an annual conference and convention that will benefit and cater to the needs of HCUL member credit unions. Responsibilities will include identifying educational needs in the industry, developing content, and executing on strategy to promote relevant events through the year. Additionally, this individual will be charged with researching and developing new and innovative tactics to increase attendance and drive revenue from coordinated events. The ideal candidate will have event planning experience coupled with website experience and web application knowledge.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze, evaluate, and plan education and training opportunities for member credit union volunteers and professionals. Responsible for various education and training events to include the annual convention.

- Develop and implement an annual education and training plan which will accomplish the goals of the organization and affiliates.

- Identify member credit unions’ education and training needs, including relevant topics, speakers, facility, and method of delivery.

- Maintain and control within established guidelines all budgetary items within the education and training plan, emphasizing cost control, quality of work, and income projections.

- Negotiate fees and contracts with speakers, meeting facilities, audio visual vendor, entertainers, and other strategic partners.

- Build database (MemberClicks) educational events in website editor and online registration in association management system. Publish and maintain an online calendar of events and professional development section on HCUL’s website.

- Organize details with facility for accommodations, meeting room, and food/beverage arrangements, audio visual requirements within the contracted agreement, secure speakers and entertainers, launch mobile event app, distribute electronic presentations, materials, and evaluations, order and maintain kukui nut leis inventory, monitor event registration, etc.) for annual convention, conferences, seminars, workshops, and other training sessions. Serve as liaison with venue, online event host, and on-site coordinator, when necessary.

- Keep abreast of governmental rules, regulations, and laws which affect credit unions to provide timely and pertinent educational opportunities.

- Administer the HCUL Pakela Awards to honor credit union professionals and volunteers for their commitment to continuing education.

- Administer and promote America’s Credit Unions (ACU) Professional Development Online, Training Bundle, and growth incentive partnership. Serve as proctor for ACU professional designation certifications.

- Administer partnerships with Financial Education & Development and OnCourse Learning webinars, Mid-Atlantic Automated Clearing House Association, and Western CUNA Management School

- Administer subscriptions and license (i.e., GoDaddy.com for domain name, and NetAtlantic for HCUL HELP Listserv, DCCA for Board of Public Accountancy CPE continuing education credits).

Skills:

Skills/Knowledge: Advance knowledge of planning, coordinating, communicating, organizing, management and computer skills.

Education/Training: Course work in business administration, finance, marketing or related field from an accredited college or university. Must be high school graduate.

Experience: Four years' experience in management, personnel, accounting or public relations (preferably in a credit union or related type organization)
