Hawaii Business Magazine is looking for a new Digital Director, the leader of our digital strategy and operations. The successful applicant will join an innovative and collaborative team that has earned much respect in the community for its coverage of important local issues like housing, small businesses, the environment, diversity, tourism and leadership.

The new Digital Director will oversee the publication of the editorial, advertising and marketing content on our website, social media and e-newsletters. That person must be well-organized, solution-oriented, self-directed, creative and adaptable with the ability to manage their time and execute tasks on schedule.

The best qualified candidates will have:

• Experience managing and optimizing a website, along with strong content management skills to ensure the site aligns with our goals and engages the target audience effectively. This also includes the ability to troubleshoot technical issues, implement updates and optimize the website for performance and user experience.

• Experience with news and information, social media campaigns, digital marketing and advertising campaigns.

• Proficiency in SEO and knowledge of digital publishing trends.

• Experience in creating effective email newsletters.

• The ability to analyze performance and create reports that assess the effectiveness of campaigns, identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.

• Experience in creating effective graphics and social media images.

• The ability to collaborate with your colleagues in different areas, such as editorial, sales, events and design.

• The ability to supervise your deputy, our Digital Media Specialist.

• Experience with event ticketing (we use the platform HeySummit).

The annual salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000.

The Digital Director will report to Steve Petranik, Editor and Executive Publisher of Hawaii Business Magazine.
