JOB/POSITION TITLE: Supplemental Programs ASEP Coordinator
OFFICE/CAMPUS: ASEP/Bento Elementary
REPORTS TO: Director of Supplemental Programs
STATUS: 12 Months (Exempt)
SALARY PAY RANGE: $48,000 to $62,000
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide a safe and well-supervised environment for after school, summer and holiday enrichment programs which enhance the learning experiences of students in grades JK-6.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop and implement after school enrichment program, summer and holiday program goals and objectives.
  • Assist the Director of Supplemental Programs in the coordination and supervision of after school programs conducted by contracted vendors (i.e. hula, ballet, piano, Japanese language, Karate, etc.).
  • Assist the Director of Supplemental Programs with summer, intercession, and holiday program registration.
  • Coordinate the program development, publicity, and registration for the after school enrichment program, intersession, and holiday programs.
  • Compile and edit information and photos for inclusion in the annual brochure which is produced in-house.
  • Coordinate the program, schedule, and activities for summer and holiday programs, including booking field trips, rental buses, community resources; write and publish brochures in-house; prepare and distribute written communications to parents.
  • Assist Director of Supplemental Programs with proper licensing with appropriate government agencies (DHS).
  • Recruit after school enrichment program, summer and holiday programs staff and conduct ongoing training and development.
  • Maintain a good supervisory working relationship with all staff. This includes encouraging open dialogue about individual concerns, difficulties and new ideas.
  • Direct leaders in carrying out their respective duties.
  • Conduct staff meetings.
  • Prepare weekly work schedules for staff.
  • Provide guidance to children to allow a comfortable transition from the regular school day to the after school environment and schedule.
  • Write behavior and accident reports.
  • Stores and handles prescribed medicines as directed by the school nurse.
  • Ensure proper processing of all collected funds (i.e. tuition, withdrawals, drop-in fees, late fees).
  • Provide necessary equipment and supplies to leaders.
  • Process purchase orders, check requests, expense reports, and reimbursements.
  • Serve as liaison between the school and home to establish a positive working relationship; interact directly with parents, in person, online, or via phone.
  • Develop, maintain, and document financial budgetary status for all programs.
  • Keep in communication with Director of Supplemental Programs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment Use: Computer (word processing and electronic spreadsheet applications), two-way radio, first-aid kit, audio/visual equipment.
  • Work Hours: Generally - Regular school: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. During school intersession breaks and summer 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Mental Demands: Prioritizing tasks and projects, analytical and critical thinking ability, attention to detail, concentration, decision-making.
  • Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods. Must be physically fit to participate in recreational activities and be able to walk around campus throughout the day to actively supervise staff and students.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Spiritual: Must have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and; demonstrate a living relationship with Jesus Christ as described in “The Baptist Faith and Message”, the tenets of the Southern Baptist denomination.
  • Skills/Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Enjoys working with people. Possess supervisory/management experience and training. CPR and first aid certified.
  • Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree conferred by an accredited college or university. Preference given to a degree in Education and twelve months of experience working with children.
