Description

About Our School
In Hawaiian, “Aliamanu” means the resting place of the birds; literally, "bird salt-pond."
Aliamanu Elementary School first opened in 1957 in an old building that was once Pearl Harbor Intermediate School. There was only one class in each grade level from kindergarten to Grade 6.
The following year, Aliamanu Elementary School was relocated to its present site on Salt Lake Boulevard. The Aliamanu area is considered part of the larger Radford Complex that includes the Salt Lake subdivision and Foster Village.
The community is a diverse population of military families, middle income apartment condominium dwellers, and low income rental units. The population of the school community includes both local and military families. Aliamanu Elementary services military families from Moanalua Terrace, Maloelap, Halsey Terrace and Doris Miller Park.
