SPECIFIC DUTIESAs a Havertys Interior Design Intern You Will
- Work with our Store Manager and Interior Designer
- Learn the Havertys In Home Design Room Creation process in Real Life situations by:
- Converting measured rooms into complete, precise, detailed room plans.
- Using “Loft”, to create complete designs with pre-set rooms.
- Reviewing HD Presentation process. (Homework: take photos of rooms at home)
- Uploading homework photos to client profiles, creating design rooms. Observing measure with HD.
- Look up furniture availability and create special orders for our customers design requests
- Prep for observed measure by selecting product, creating 2d, 3d loft models
- Set up presentation area and present your plan to the HD/Manager. Review observation form and receive feedback from the HD/Manager.
- You will gain a clear understanding of the Havertys In Home Design processes (measure, prep, and presentation)

As a Havertys Interior Design Intern, you must be a highly driven and self-motivated leader. You must also be a supportive team member as you contribute to overall store success and customer satisfaction. You must also be highly organized and able to maintain a responsive schedule. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to connect and establish relationships with a diverse group of customers and Havertys Associates.
Specific Qualifications For The Role Include
- Interior design degree from an accredited college or university; or relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in interior design
- Positive and engaging personality
- Creative flare and energetic attitude
- Familiarity with a broad range of furniture styles and products preferred, but not required
- Computer proficiency including email experience required; knowledge and use of Office 365 software preferred; Tablet/iPad operation abilities strongly preferred
- Relevant experience and interest, preferred but not required
