Description

SUMMARY.

The primary function of the Campus Life Supervisor (CLS) is to be shift point of contact and information for all employees on shift and provide routine care, monitoring and linkages/referrals for clients, and complete shift documentation for the clients and program daily. Supports the needs of all staff and clients. CLSs will also ensure that Campus Life Staff understand their roles in addressing the needs of clients and that they perform their duties effectively and in accordance with Haven’s Core Values. Shift’s are assigned depending on need, A-Shift, B-Shift and C-Shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Assists Manager and Sr. Supervisor to maintain a professional culture that promotes teamwork and empathy for clients and team members.
  • Maintain and coordinate the daily operations of the Campus Life operations and functions.
  • Support team members as necessary,
  • Helps Campus Life Navigators in understanding and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates daily debriefing with staff; provides feedback, coaching, and training to staff.
  • Ensures that staff operate within the scope of authority and seek relevant approvals as required.
  • Works with the Manager and Sr. Supervisor to ensure that programs are consistent with the Haven for Hope principles and Core Values that supports quality service delivery.
  • Effectively handles client and/or staff issues as needed in discreet and respectful manner.
  • Responsible for interior and exterior maintenance and appearance of the Campus Life areas.
  • Link and refer clients to appropriate services (internal/external).
  • Serve as lead point of contact for all employee guidance and information during shift.
  • Comply with and participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement processes, and with required contractual and Haven policies and procedures.
  • Carries hand radio and/or cell phone and responds immediately to all calls and takes appropriate action in coordination with Haven management
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Oversee Sr Navigators and Navigators and offer guidance and direction.

REQURIED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES.

  • Commitment to Haven for Hope’s mission and values
  • Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion and sensitivity to persons with disabilities and underserved populations.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to represent Haven for Hope and support clients with histories of homelessness and traumas.
  • Ability to operate PC-based software programs including proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other computer based systems.
  • Ability to learn and maintain information systems developed specifically for Haven for Hope.
  • Ability to learn and apply concurrent documentation techniques is essential.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months to one year experience in providing similar services is required.
  • Preferred experience working with the homeless population a plus.
  • Experience using Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and/or reports preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.

Valid Driver's License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS.

Must be able to complete all training including lifting up to 20 pounds and supporting up to 55 pounds; plus, be able to do periods of standing, bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance. The duties will not require any lifting over 20 pounds. Must have adequate mobility that requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching (vertical and horizontal), and using fingers, hands, feet, legs and torso in various care. The employee must be able to occasionally transfer a guest.
