Location: In-person in Santa Barbara, or hybrid

Salary: $50-65 piece rate per visit (plus benefits at 24 hours per week)

This Position:

We are looking for a psychologist to join our team of women, to support parents in the transitional phases of the parenting journey including; conception, pregnancy, infancy, and early parenthood, as well as infertility and pregnancy loss. We are seeking a Psychologist to serve as an essential role in helping Haven Family Resource meet our mission of easing the transition of parenthood and helping to create healthy, connected, and thriving families.

This is a clinical role, primarily conducting individual therapy sessions - with room for creativity, family work, couple’s therapy, and group therapy work as well. We value your expertise, and experience in regards to your own comfort level with a caseload and will strive to provide you with the number of clients that fits you best.

Requirements for the Position:

• Licensed Psychologist in good standing with CA BOP
• PhD or PsyD from an APA accredited program (Postdocs also encouraged to apply).
• Enthusiasm about working with mothers, and other gestational parents, during and after the perinatal phases, as well as with infertility and pregnancy loss.
• Competency in integrated case conceptualization for assessing and treating clients managing the transition into parenthood.
• Demonstrates a trauma-informed approach to care.
• Willing to work in person, and by telehealth per client needs and requests.
• Collaborative in providing a system of care approach to supporting clients, by working with OBGYNs, doulas, midwives, lactation consultants, and other birth workers.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice to Have:

• Trainings, experience, certifications in maternal mental health, perinatal mental health, or other relevant experience
• Ability to conduct therapy in a language in addition to English
• Interested and eligible to supervise psychological associates and trainees

Haven Counseling Program is a community-based mental health clinic aiming to improve the mental health and well being of families. By supporting birthing parents and primary caregivers during a vulnerable/transitional time, we can intervene and prevent the bidirectional nature of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and adverse childhood experiences. Other areas of care include relationships and attachment, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma-related difficulties. Services focus on a diversity-informed, culturally responsive approach to supporting individuals and their families. Through our compassionate, skilled counseling program, professionally-curated information and services, practical support, and thoughtful considered referrals, our person-centered approach helps guide new and expecting parents as they navigate the learning curve of pregnancy and early parenthood.
