Hattie Jane's Creamery is a local, independently-owned ice cream brand based in Tennessee where we make our southern flavors in-house.

Our Columbia location is the original and is also where we make our ice cream.

Who is this job for? This is a great position for someone with restaurant or catering experience that is self-motivated, responsible, independent and maybe even a little entrepreneurial or marketing-minded.

This is a summer gig : the truck typically operates from May - September. We are also open to someone that wants to earn commission by booking their own events!

Continued employment at the shops can be discussed.

Job Summary : The Ice Cream Truck Operator is responsible for executing scheduled events on behalf of Hattie Jane’s Creamery with the ice cream truck or cart as directed by the leadership team.

For larger events, we will supply additional staff for support.

Pay : Base Pay starts at $16 / hour, depending upon experience.

Responsibilities :

Include but are not limited to :

• Stocking the ice cream truck with specified flavors for the event
• Setting up for scheduled events
• Driving the ice cream truck or other setups to the event
• Arriving on time or early for all events
• Serving our Guests with a positive attitude and servant’s heart
• Collecting payment for all orders
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace at all times
• Cleaning up the event space before leaving, disposing of trash in designated areas
• If an event that accepts cash, maintaining the cash bank and returning all cash sales to the store day-of the event
• Returning all food product to the designated area
• Cleaning all utensils and serving wares and storing in designated areas
• Cleaning, organizing, and restocking the ice cream truck after each event and ensuring that it is properly shut down
• Returning keys to their designated place
• Any other duties pertaining to preparing for or executing events for the company

• Toast Point of Sale System
• Word Processing Software : Microsoft Word or Google Docs
• Spreadsheet Software : Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

Qualifications :

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must pass the federally mandated E-verify process.
• At least 1 year experience in customer service.
• A clean driving record.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
• Be able to work weekend and evening shifts.
• Must be self-disciplined, take initiative, have leadership ability, and must be outgoing.
• Must have a pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
• Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.
• Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff and guests.
