Job Summary:

The Accounting Assistant/Billing Specialist will perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting data including accounts payable, billing, and receivables. Will also work closely with A/R on aged customer invoices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including, but not limited to:
o Accounts payables
o Accounts receivables
o Customer billing
o Customer credits

• Review billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.

• Work closely with A/R clerk on aged invoices to keep customer accounts current.

• Will work with A/R posting payments on days A/R clerk is not in office.

• May assist with answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.

• Basic mathematical skills.

• Good verbal & written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, especially Excel.

• Must be a self-starting problem solver.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Bookkeeping training preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
