Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant/Billing Specialist will perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting data including accounts payable, billing, and receivables. Will also work closely with A/R on aged customer invoices. Duties/Responsibilities: Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including, but not limited to: o Accounts payables o Accounts receivables o Customer billing o Customer credits
Review billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
Work closely with A/R clerk on aged invoices to keep customer accounts current.
Will work with A/R posting payments on days A/R clerk is not in office.
May assist with answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
Basic mathematical skills.
Good verbal & written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, especially Excel.
Must be a self-starting problem solver.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bookkeeping training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
