Key Responsibilities :

• Managing daily UPS shipments, to include prepping and packing small package shipments, processing orders on UPS World Ship, and stacking orders for the UPS pickup.
• Scheduling and preparing LTL shipments : Contacting carriers for competitive pricing, preparing bills of lading, accurately stacking, wrapping, and labeling shipments.
• Learning and adhering to our customers’ freight requirements, including preferred carriers and delivery schedules.
• Receiving incoming inventory and product returns and communicating all necessary information to accounting and customer service.
• Processing HAZMAT orders in accordance with all regulations.
• Keeping accurate records of all shipments.
• Maintaining an organized and clean shipping and receiving area.
• Assisting with general production and packaging efforts as needed, and helping with monthly and annual inventory counts.

Qualifications :

• 2 years of recent experience in shipping and receiving to include both small package shipments and LTL shipments. HAZMAT certification is strongly preferred.
• Competent knowledge of general computer applications and an intermediate familiarity with UPS World Ship is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and record keeping.
• Willingness and ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of associates and outside vendors.
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude and general willingness to help with whatever needs to get done.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 75 pounds.
• Outstanding attendance and punctuality. Willingness to work occasional mandatory overtime.
