The Hastings Nursery School is looking for a Floater/Assistant Teacher to work five days a week from 8:15 am to 12:45 pm for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year ending June 14th and continuing with us for the new school 2024-2025 starting September!

We are a small community and pride ourselves in being able to offer one of the safest, fun and nurturing environment to our children. We are looking for someone who is passionate about our young learners and someone who is interested in furthering their education career, as well as working closely with our staff and parents.

Our program is run by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and initial background checks will be required.

Responsibilities of the position may include but not limited to:

• Classroom coverage where needed (we currently only have 4 classrooms)
• Assist in the preparations of the classroom for daily activities
• Keeping classroom toys, manipulatives, and learning environment organized and clean
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to support and nurture each child in the classroom
• Attend monthly staff meetings, training or other school events
• Help maintain a safe and caring learning environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• H.S Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree in Education or Early Childhood or,
• College course-work towards Early Childhood or Education degree
• At least a year of experience working with young children ages 2- 4
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S and not require sponsorship in the future.

Pre-employment Requirements:

• Three professional references
• Medical statement
• OCFS background check: Fingerprints, State Central Register, Staff Exclusion List and other trainings.
