Harvest Sherwood Food Distributors is Hiring a Sanitation worker Near Miami, FL

We buy, sell and deliver fresh, high quality protein products and other foods to over 6,000 retail and foodservice customers.

Job Purpose

The Porter will maintain the sanitation standards throughout the warehouse and dock areas. Assist in keeping things neat and organized.

Assist were needed with an eye towards a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Porter will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.

  • Clean lunch areas (clean tables, sweep, mop)
  • Cleaning of freezers / coolers
  • Cleaning dock areas (Sweeping and removing any cardboard, wood, plastic. Making sure it is free from debris)
  • Organizing pallets
  • Cleaning outside and the perimeter of the facility as required
  • Cleaning parking lot
  • Cleaning bathrooms
  • Cleaning office areas / workstations
  • Other tasks assigned by management
  • Ensuring shop and warehouse are free from obstructions
  • Attending and participating in all required and requested safety meetings and training sessions
  • Watching designated training videos when requested
  • Learning basic industrial vehicle operator maintenance skills Becoming familiar with First Aid and medical emergency techniques
  • Treating fellow employees, supervisors, and customers with honesty, courtesy and respect

Qualifications and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function assigned satisfactorily.

  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment with temperatures ranging from 0-36 degrees
  • Physically able to bend and lift up to 90lbs
  • Experience operating electric pallet jacks
  • Be at work on time, ready to work and dressed accordingly, rubber soled work boots are required
