Harsha Behavioral Center is Hiring a Housekeeping Near Terre Haute, IN

Harsha Behavioral Center is a freestanding 81-bed acute care inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Terre Haute, Indiana servicing children, adolescents, adults, & geriatrics.

Harsha Behavioral Center is currently hiring Environmental Services Technician for housekeeping and laundry. 8a - 4:30p

Hourly rate for the position: $14.00

All applicants must be willing and able to work a holiday rotation.

Job Summary: Maintains the cleanliness of the medical units and administrative offices and maintain laundry on a routine daily basis.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Performs job functions timely and efficiently.

2. Offices are maintained according to a written cleaning schedule.

3. Cleaning solutions are used according to written instructions.

4. Cleaning solutions are stored in appropriate containers with appropriate labels.

5. Sharps containers are monitored daily and are changed before they are overfilled.

6.Cleaning solutions are stored away from public access. If used in a patient care area will be locked or in possession at all times.

7. Follows all appropriate infection control and safety policies and procedures.

8. The customer service standards of the organization are reflected in daily work habits.

9. Is helpful to patients/visitors who need assistance in finding their way around the facility.

10. Adheres to established policies contained in the Personnel and Plant Operations manuals.

11. Complaints are referred to the department manager if the problem cannot be immediately solved.

12. Physicians and fellow staff members are treated courteously.

13. Responds to requests from other departments in a timely, positive and friendly manner.

14. Appropriate protective clothing is worn.

15. Ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times.

16. Making sure the housekeeping is equip with the supplies they need.

17. Sorts items to be laundered.

18. Make sure each unit is equip with the appropriate amount of clean linens.

19. Folds and places items in appropriate storage areas.

20. Make sure to maintain the washers and dryers. If they need maintenance make sure to contact your supervisor.

21. Make sure to return any patient belongings that were washed to the appropriate unit.

Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
