For School Year 2023-2024200- Work Day Calendar Bookkeeper - HSHourly Pay Rate: $20.08 (Salary placement is based on experience.)Click on the following link to view the full pay range on the ESP Salary Schedule: https://www.hsd2.org/our-district/financial-transparencyJob Summary:Maintain all financial records of the school and support the operation of the school's main office.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain all school activity account records, receive deposits, and disburse all monies generated by these accounts. Monitor and process all expenditure from the general fund and executory/activity accounts including deposits, accounting software data entry, warehouse orders, bill payment, etc. Complete other miscellaneous duties including receive/process orders, answer questions, and perform general record keeping duties. Reconcile p-card statements, maintain petty cash fund, complete quarterly sales tax reports. Oversee the financial activities of the special tuition program including receive payment, issue receipts, forward deposits to district office, maintain ledger, and follow up on delinquent accounts.Ensure daily functions of the school office are completed by assisting the principal in trouble-shooting office equipment and/or calling in for service, keeping an inventory of related office supplies and ordering and maintaining an adequate supply of general office materials. Operate and ensure that equipment is safe.Greet and relate to patrons, colleagues, visitors, and students. Provides receptionist duties as assigned including; receive and route calls/messages, screen unexpected callers, and assist visitors (i.e., answer questions, provide directions, etc.). Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.Assist in supervision and discipline of students in office. Perform various duties involving student discipline as assigned by principal, which includes entering student discipline data, mail home forms, contact parents, and monitor, assist, and obtain work for students.Process requisitions for supplies/materials and equipment. Receive and route deliveries to appropriate personnel and departments.Compile data and submit reports to district finance office.Chart usage of copier by teams and departments, report copy count for billing purposes, and request service as needed.Serve on required budget committee and voluntary committees.Process transportation forms for field trips.Assess fines for lost, damaged books and equipment, send letters to parents to recover fines, and process insurance forms and route appropriately.Assist in preparing general fund budget allocated to building.Update compute list of school’s inventory.Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Training and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Up to 2 years experience in secretarial and clerical accounting and general bookkeeping. Basic math, computer and accounting skills. Operating knowledge of general office equipment preferred at hire. A minimum of 55 wpm typing skills required.Ability to promote and follow Board of Education Coherent Governance Policies, District Policies and building and department procedures; communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds and recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.Application Procedure:Click on the red “Apply” button to complete an online application, you must apply to each position that is of interest to you.FLSA: Non-Exempt
