Harris Teeter is Hiring a Payroll Analyst Near Matthews, NC

Summary: Analyze processes in recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, garnishment, and calculating payrolls by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responds in an accurate, thorough and customer friendly manner both verbally, and in writing, to associate inquiries primarily regarding all payroll and garnishments. Responds to other inquiries when required. Acts as a liaison between associate and garnishment vendors.

Responsible that all types of garnishment correspondence are answered on a timely basis and documented appropriately. Provides appropriate follow up as indicated in garnishment order to ensure successful processing of orders and customer satisfaction.

Analyze and process period end wage cross charges from regions. Keep detailed journal entries showing documentation of all wage cross charges. Coordinates with Payroll Supervisor on period end entries.

Coordinate and key all federal and state tax forms. Ability to research and maintain associate tax forms when transferring to different states or moving to a different state. Ability to analyze tax forms for proper format per state and federal tax laws.

Ability to process payroll for hourly, warehouse, and admin utilizing all payroll jobs through internal payroll software. Maintain records for salary continuation to be used in the computation of eligible wages for bonus.

Responsible for tracking and paying all federal and state withholding taxes. This includes maintaining monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll logs of taxes withheld from payroll checks. Knowledge of all state tax laws.

Responsible for assisting Payroll Supervisor in the completion of all federal and state quarterly and annual reporting. Knowledge of federal/state tax laws in preparation of W-2’s.

Knowledge of Payroll Clerk and Payroll Coordinator job functions.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university or three years payroll experience or three years CSM experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and customers.

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word; Excel; Access database software; GEAC (Infor) Accounting software and GEAC payroll systems; Workforce Management System.

Other Qualification:
Must be extremely detailed oriented and possess good organizational skills. Ability to perform in a team role. Superior customer service skills. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. Must possess excellent phone skills and ability to project professionalism, courtesy, tact, diplomacy, discretion and sound judgment.
