Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Produce Manager. As a Produce Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the produce department, including inventory control, sales management, and training development. This is a key leadership role within our organization, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about the market industry and has strong retail management skills.
Duties:
- Supervise and lead a team of produce department employees
- Ensure the proper handling and merchandising of all produce items
- Monitor inventory levels and implement effective inventory control measures
- Develop and execute strategies to maximize sales and profitability
- Collaborate with vendors to buy high-quality produce at competitive prices
- Train and develop staff on product knowledge, customer service, and retail math
- Maintain a clean and organized department in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote new products or seasonal offerings
Skills:
- Proven experience in market or grocery store management, preferably in the produce department
- Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Demonstrated ability to make informed buying decisions based on market trends and customer preferences
- Proficiency in sales management techniques to drive revenue growth
- Bilingual skills (preferred) to effectively communicate with diverse customers and staff members
- Experience in training development to enhance employee skills and performance
- Solid understanding of retail math concepts for accurate pricing and profit analysis
