ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operate excavator, front end loader and dozer as required.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, such as checking oil, water, and tires.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum two years’ verifiable heavy equipment operator experience required for the following equipment:
    • Skid Steer
    • Excavator
    • Front-end Loader
    • Dozer
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Class B CDL License preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proven ability to problem solve/resolve conflicts
  • Strong communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Communicating with internal customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.
  • Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach, pull, lift, and use arms to manipulate small objects and stirring mechanisms
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, stand, reach, bend, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Work is routinely performed in a general production environment on a concrete and dirt surface, with frequent exposure to both the internal and external environment.
  • Frequent exposure to severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.
  • Frequent exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
  • Must wear steel-toed boots.
  • Recommended (area specific): Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back brace, and safety suit. Will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
