**Kitchen Shift Lead**

**Department:** Harpoon Beer Hall **Location:** Boston, MA

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

Mass. Bay Brewing Company (MBBC), parent company to Harpoon, UFO, Clown Shoes, Arctic Chill, and City Roots, is seeking a full-time Kitchen Shift Lead who will be responsible for a range of duties related to daily food production as well as cleaning, stocking and other tasks.

**JOB DUTIES**

**Production Schedule**

* When Kitchen Manager is not available, set forth any production changes according to business or event needs hourly, daily

* Ensure all daily production tasks are complete in a timely manner

**Ordering, Receiving, and Product Control**

* Maintain FIFO inventory of all kitchen product both on the line and in storage

* Orders according to inventory pars and/or production schedule twice weekly or as needed

* Presents packing slips and reconciled invoices to Kitchen Manager for authorization

**Daily Production**

* Ensure adherence to S.O.P.s on all aspects of daily kitchen operations:

Opening

Closing

All food production

Supervision of the line

Quality standards

* Accommodate special needs resulting from events

**Supervision**

* Oversee Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers

* Provide hands-on training, coaching, and guidance to ensure compliance with all SOPs and standards with new staff/ trainees as well as the continuous development of staff

* Hold staff accountable to their duties on a real-time basis and communicates any issues with the MOD in the moment

* Ensure all daily cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed according to standards

**Hygiene, Health, and Safety**

* Compliance with Harpoon S.O.P.s

* In conjunction with the Kitchen Manager and MODs, ensure on-going compliance with all hygiene, health, and safety standards as established by governing authorities

**REQUIREMENTS**

* 2 Years Kitchen Experience

* Established competency with

Ordering and inventory management

Production scheduling

Cost control systems

* Ability to work variable hours including night and weekend work

* Highly organized and energetic

* A passion for food

* Genuine enthusiasm for craft beer and craft beer drinkers

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

* Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting of products and supplies weighing up to 65 lbs.

* Repetitive hand and wrist motion

* Working with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment

* Working with hazardous chemicals
