HarperCollins Publishers is Hiring a Marketing Coordinator - International Sales Near New York, NY

Overview

The HarperCollins International Sales Department has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The Marketing Coordinator will report to the Marketing & Publicity Manager and will play a key role in coordinating marketing efforts with HarperCollins’ international affiliate offices, sales accounts, and distributors.

This position will work across all HarperCollins imprints (Adult & Children's) and is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in expanding our international presence! The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in international publishing, a creative approach to problem solving, and be comfortable collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of the Marketing & Publicity Manager:

  • Builds strong relationships with marketing departments at HarperCollins U.S., HarperCollins international affiliates, and international accounts/distributors.
  • Collaborates with HarperCollins U.S. marketing teams to extend reach of domestic campaigns.
  • Coordinates the distribution of digital and physical marketing materials to our international affiliates and accounts.
  • In partnership with the Marketing & Publicity Manager, works closely with sales reps and accounts to execute marketing campaigns, promotions, and merchandising.
  • Contributes to retail marketing efforts including advertising, newsletters, galley mailings, and seasonal sales catalogs.
  • Attends internal meetings for both Adult & Children’s divisions and shares updates with the department.
  • Prepares materials for and actively participates in departmental meetings and title presentations.
  • Contributes to B2B marketing efforts, including advertising, newsletters, galley mailings, and seasonal sales catalogs.
  • Contributes to the HC International social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook).
  • Manages international book influencer program.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of publishing experience in sales and/or marketing
  • A motivated self-starter with a love for books
  • Excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities
  • Comfortable presenting in front of a group and participating in meetings
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for internal and external networking
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to department goals
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • An eye for design and experience with platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Canva a plus

The salary for this position is $49,500. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
