Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and supplies. This position requires expertise in logistics, inventory control, supply chain management, and production planning.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost efficiency and quality of materials

- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery times, and reliability

- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and payment terms

- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to ensure adequate stock levels

- Utilize MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) systems to track material needs and maintain accurate records

- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and stay updated on industry trends

- Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of logistics, inventory control, supply chain management, and production planning
