JOB DESCRIPTION.
Inclusion aides are responsible for the day-to-day supervision and inclusion of their assigned child(ren). This position is the go to person if there is a child who could benefit from an adaptation to instructional materials to enhance the student’s performance.
We are currently looking for part-time candidates to join schools throughout San Diego, including schools in Mira Mesa, Serra Mesa, Pacific Beach, Paradise Hills, Rolando Park, and Clairemont.
JOB COMPLEXITY.
Develop and implement behavior support and intervention plans and modeling specialized strategies and techniques
Develop, implement and model social skill development techniques, including social stories, peer facilitation, and peer training
Assist in developing and implementing de-escalation strategies to assist or support with student development
Assist in the preparation and adaptation of instruction materials to enhance student performance in the program
Provide Site Director with enrichment program ideas focusing on the inclusion of the assigned child(ren)
Provide assigned child(ren) assistance with academic homework
MINIMUM COMPETENCIES.
Must be 18 years of age
Must have 48 completed college units OR pass the District’s Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (a basic math and literacy exam)
Valid CPR and First Aid Certified required upon hire
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience with children with special needs (paid or unpaid) in any of the following settings: working, volunteering, or babysitting
