Harmonium was established in 1975 through an enterprising blend of vision and necessity to respond to Mira Mesa's rapidly growing need for juvenile diversion services. We continue to shape our mission, goals and services by listening to the needs of neighborhoods, individuals and families.
We are a 5041(c)(3) nonprofit organization that reaches more than 30,000 San Diegans a year and offer a wide array of innovative and customized program services to over 5,000 children, youth, and families each day throughout San Diego County. JOB DESCRIPTION.
The Benefits & Safety Specialist provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services. This position manages workers compensation and unemployment benefits and the recruitment across the agency. The HR Specialist is responsible for supporting, tracking and assisting to coordinate training programs for the agency, developing partnerships with other businesses, raising brand awareness and working collaboratively. This position is also responsible for the agency’s Wellness program.
JOB COMPLEXITY.
Administer unemployment process and provide responses within timelines
Administer workers compensation process including Harmonium's Safety Plan and providing Safety Trainings
Provide support with health benefit plans including documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, reconciliation, and enrollment/cancellation notifications
Assists with tracking agency leaves of absences
Responsible for maintaining agency orientation and delivering to new hires on a monthly basis
Assist with maintaining the internal job descriptions database
Responsible for recruitment process including advertising, facilitating the preparation of interview scoring packets including KPIs and questions, ensuring new hire packets agency-wide are compliant, including approval and reference checking
Manage LiveScan fingerprinting and billing process
MINIMUM COMPETENCIES.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum of 1 year experience in HR field
Must have experience in recruitment
Experience with supporting training programs is preferred
Good understanding of employee wellness program
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Apps
Valid TB results required
Must receive Fingerprint Clearance upon hire (paid by Harmonium)
Must provide proof of Fully Vaccinated status
