Job description

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmic diagnostic tests and possess excellent interpersonal skills. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmologists and ensuring the smooth flow of patient care in our high-volume practice.

Responsibilities:

· Helping to escort patients to appropriate exam and diagnostic testing rooms within the office and to the checkout desk upon discharge.

· Assisting, when needed, in ensuring that patients receive all medication directions and follow-up instructions.

· Assisting in preparing exam rooms prior to in-office procedures.

· Ensuring that the patients complete appropriate consent forms prior to in-office procedures.

· Assisting in conducting preliminary eye exams when needed, including taking patient medical histories and performing visual acuity tests.

· Assisting, when needed, in administering diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, HRT, OCT, and lensometry.

· Educate patients on proper eye care.

· Record accurate and detailed patient information in their health records.

Qualifications:

· Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or equivalent certification preferred.

· Previous experience working as an ophthalmic technician in a high-volume practice preferred.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.

· Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

· Knowledge of ophthalmic medications and their proper administration.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
  • Total: Minimum 31 hours per week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
