Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York City — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Officer of Individual Philanthropy to join our Development team. The Officer of Individual Philanthropy will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children’s Zone: to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
In this full-time position, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Individual Philanthropy vertical. The Individual Philanthropy Officer will manage important relationships and will be expected to identify, qualify, solicit, and steward donors to drive revenue and meet fundraising goals. Reporting to the Director of Individual Philanthropy, and working closely with the Individual Philanthropy, Institutional Giving, and Development Operations teams, the Individual Philanthropy Officer will help to facilitate strategic, collaborative fundraising efforts for HCZ’s core mission programs. The Officer will implement a best practice approach to the solicitation and stewardship process. The successful candidate will have an outgoing personality, sense of humor, pro-active ambition, and a passion for contributing to the mission of a pre-eminent Black led, Black and brown serving organization in the anti-poverty, education, and social services space.
