Ideal Background

• B.S. in Engineering or other technical degree is preferred
• This position requires 10 years of experience in related industry/related functional area management. 
• A minimum of five years of direct people management experience
• Must be results oriented, decisive, and exhibit good relationship building skills in a professional environment
• Seeking diverse maintenance analysis knowledge, with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Should be skilled with hands on ability, may be called on to assist in complex situations.
• Seeking CMMS proficiency with SAP PM preferred
• Preferred experience with continuous improvement (e.g. lean six-sigma, 5S), Project Management, Kronos, and Microsoft Office products

What You'll Be Doing

Four main area this position will be responsible for with specific corresponding duties listed: 1) Responsible for all maintenance activities of a specialty catalyst chemical manufacturing plant. 2) Manage the Louisville West Plant Maintenance team. 3) Managing Maintenance Budget. 4) Maintain relationships and audits of 3rd party contractors.

• Be able to respond to emergency repairs of all orders of magnitude, bringing in effective, qualified outside support if necessary to meet required deadlines.
• Direct and insist on safe work practices with a goal of zero recordable injuries.
• Schedule maintenance programs and processes (e.g. plant shutdowns & utility outages) for the plant to minimize impact on production.
• Support reliability improvement initiatives, implement preventative maintenance solutions
• Provide and maintain standards of performance and appraisals which promote high quality, efficiency and effectiveness
• Facilitate the corporation between the maintenance functions (planning, scheduling, superintendent) and the production team (gatekeeper, production planning, etc)
• This position provides direction, development, coordination and oversight to subordinate levels and provides information to upper levels.
• Obtains broad directives and priorities from upper levels.
• Implement maintenance process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency
• Work with appropriate individuals in preparing annual budgets.
• Monitor and control direct controllable costs within budgetary limits.
• Minimize cost by optimizing work and scheduling practices in the plant.
• Maintain sufficient contacts with qualified 3rd party contractors to meet emergency needs or specialized tasks
• Liaison for 3rd party contractors to support the planning process for identified tasks.
• Ensure all maintenance contractors are qualified and properly documented
