The Capital Project Buyer is primarily responsible for executing the detailed tactical procurement functions in support of the Global Projects procurement and contracting group. The Capital Project Buyer supports the transactions of all projects being managed by the group.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or other technical field
Five years experience in project management, engineering, construction or maintenance activities in a heavy industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat

Years of Experience: If Capex, preferable 2-5 years in heavy industry. Capex for Hospitals or others is not comparable.

Preferred Software: SAP, Excel and other Microsoft applications

Skillset Details and Key Requirements: Cap-Ex buyer is stress-resistant, works on a tight timeline, and juggles multiple things at the same time. Participate in meetings, and work on RFI’s, and Purchase orders. Constant stress. Contracts, penalty paragraphs. Familiar with capital purchasing is highly preferred.

Project Scope/Description: RFP, RFI, Negotiations, Interaction with Suppliers/Internal Customers, Bid evaluations, Recommendations, SAP (potentially Contract Management).
