What You'll Be Doing Job Scope: Steam traps are evaluated to determine if they are functioning properly and not cold plugging or failing in an open position and allowing live steam to escape into the condensate return system. There are four basic ways to test steam traps: temperature, sound, visual, and electronic. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Remove, install, clean, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment throughout the facility safely and professionally. Troubleshoot mechanical issues. Provide support during ongoing Turnarounds. Ideal Background Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in Engineering Technology is preferred. Experience: This position requires 1 years of relevant industrial experience in Steam Systems Operate hand power tools and measurement tools. Must be willing to work overtime hours, especially during plant outages and scheduled turnarounds on weekends & holidays as required. Ability to work in a team atmosphere. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in control valve, valve automation, and instrumentation. Previous experience with surveying steam traps and steam systems in industrial plants. Ability to read/interpret pneumatic schematics to tube valves correctly. Possess basic computer skills. Microsoft Office Applications Experience (i.e.: Excel, Word, etc.). SAP experience Hands-on mechanical and electrical repair of valves and valve operators. Knowledge of electricity and electronics Strong troubleshooting skills Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, and overall system drawings.
