This position is housed at the Early College and Career Center, but will serve all three high schools (Central Hardin, John Hardin, North Hardin).
In order to qualify for Kentucky teacher certification through occupation-based route, according to 16 KAR 2:020, a candidate must: 1. be a US Citizen with a high school diploma or GED; and 2. have four years of successful and appropriate occupational experience in the area of certification, and at least two (2) years must be in the last five (5) years; and have an offer of employment from a local school district, the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), or the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).
Prior to an offer of employment: Candidate needs to meet work experience criteria: Four (4) years of successful and appropriate experience, two (2) years of experience in the past five (5) years. A maximum of one (1) year of the required work experience may be satisfied by completion of an accredited occupational preparation program for the occupation to be taught.
This is a 187-day position that may include extended work days as necessary for the program.
BASIC FUNCTION: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.
