We plan to bring electrification to class 4-7 commercial vehicles at cost parity to a wide range of customers. We are currently seeking a passionate and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Product Specifications Engineer. The individual is ideally a well rounded engineer who can go into the details of different realms of automotive engineering. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in defining and refining product specifications for our cutting-edge electric vehicles. • Assist in Trade-Off Studies: Support other engineering groups in conducting trade-off studies to find optimal balances among performance, safety, and durability considerations. This will involve learning to make decisions that enhance product specifications and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform Benchmark Studies: Participate in research and analysis efforts to benchmark competitor vehicles and study market trends. This involves gathering and analyzing data to support the team in making informed specification adjustments.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Current Enrollment: Must be a current Master’s or PhD student in Automotive Systems Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Project Experience: Should have experience with requirements decomposition and writing requirements from school projects or similar academic activities. A systems approach to problem-solving is essential.
  • Software Proficiency: A strong interest and basic proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink are required. Prior experience with these tools in academic projects is highly desirable.
  • Automotive Passion: An expressed interest in the automotive industry, particularly in electric vehicles and sustainable transportation solutions.
  • Extracurricular Engagement: Experience in BAJA, Formula SAE (FSAE), or similar projects is a plus, demonstrating practical experience in automotive design and engineering.
