GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Loan Documentation Prep Specialist prescreens loan documentation based upon information submitted from lending staff. This position ensures loan documents are accurate and in compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements. The Loan Documentation Prep Specialist works regularly to maintain service level standards in a production environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prescreen and prepare documentation for consumer non-real estate requests submitted through Service Now. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
2. Recognize deficiencies in the request for documentation before determining the appropriate hold to be placed on the loan submission. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
3. Place holds applied during the prescreen loan process. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
4. Accurately assign various consumer non-real estate request loan codes in the prescreen process to meet regulatory and company reporting requirements. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
5. Ensure corrections are made to consumer non-real estate loan documents as requested by the lender through ServiceNow. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
6. Respond to phone requests and inquiries from lending staff or other departments promptly and professionally. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
7. Complete training to prescreen and prepare commercial loan requests as needed. This duty is performed quarterly.
8. Review transactions and final documents list for accuracy before releasing to the lender. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
9. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
10. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.
11. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must possess strong communication skills and good documentation/organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as accomplish work assignments under minimal supervision and tight schedules.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent customer service skills and a minimum of six months of banking experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite such as Word, Excel, and Outlook a must.
Applicant should have experience servicing customer needs in fast-paced environment.
