Looking for a Barista/Cashier!

Barista Skills and Responsibilities:
● Welcomes customers by greeting them and determining their coffee interests and food needs.
● Maintain knowledge of current menu options and the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
● Take orders at the cashier counter with professionalism and friendliness. Maintain an accurate cashier drawer and clean workspace.
● Answering and taking orders over the phone.
● Fulfilling drink and pastry orders from DoorDash, and Online Ordering systems.
● Preparing and serving a variety of drinks, along with pastries and cookies.
● Prepares and sells drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos.
● Package pastry items for here/to-go orders with necessary add-ins.
● Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, bagels, and cookies for bakery cases.
● Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
● Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.

● Enhances bistro reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Shift Details
The business is open Sunday-Wednesday from 7am-12pm, and Thursday-Saturday 7am-3 pm. Shifts are usually 4-4.5 hours long. We are looking for both part time and full time staff members. Morning shifts start at 6:45am and end around 11am. The afternoon shift is from
11am-3pm. Shifts will have complimentary meals, complimentary beverages, and the opportunity to earn tips.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply due to on-site equipment.
Prior café or coffee shop experience a plus.
Cooking training or experience a plus.
Familiarity with telephone and point-of-sale software.
