HANNA INSTRUMENTS is Hiring a Global Product Portfolio Manager Near Woonsocket, RI

Hanna Instruments, an industry leader and manufacturer of scientific instrumentation, is seeking a full-time Global Product Portfolio Manager for our Woonsocket, Rhode Island office. This role will lead all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace, by using existing products and developing new products to meet specific customer needs in various industries.

This role plays an important part in product planning and execution, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, refining, and communicating the product roadmap, and working closely with our global offices, R&D, sales, and marketing.

Job Responsibilities for a Global Product Portfolio Manager:

  • Drives and secures the development, performance, and profitability of an attractive portfolio which reflects market demand and our customer needs by industry.
  • Develop customer-centric strategies to achieve category growth, increased market share, sales, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to enhance and execute a global product vision/strategy based on deep customer & market intelligence.
  • Lead customer & business intelligence and analytics function (i.e. competitive analysis, market intelligence, demand mapping, customer needs states, customer profiling, etc.) to identify and develop prioritized strategic initiatives, product differentiation and value propositions that inform the overall go to market strategy for each category
  • Work cross functionally to turn customer and business intelligence into a go to market strategic approach and partner with local Country Managers to operationalize the roadmap.
  • Align with customers on key category initiatives and partner on strategic solutions that leverage organizational capabilities to create maximum value.
  • Develop key initiatives and programs with quantifiable objectives to measure results – KPIs that reflect customer behavior and intelligence, along with aligning to marketing and sales goals.
  • Oversee sales forecast and lead pricing process across each category.
  • Engage economic/forecasting services to understand macro-economic conditions and guide future revenue projections.
  • Proactively identify growth/risk opportunities with customers and communicate findings to sales team.
  • Project manage new product launches working with both marketing and customer success colleagues.
  • Continuously evaluate the competitive landscape to respond to market signals.

Knowledge & Skills Required for a Product Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of 7 years leadership experience developing and executing growth plans, and customer insights leading to go-to-marketing strategic initiatives.
  • Scientific instrumentation industry experience required.
  • Product portfolio life cycle management
  • Understanding of business intelligence and analytics tools and methodologies used to identify and assess new growth opportunities.
  • Customer-facing sales, analytics, or sales-support experience a plus
  • Experience creating and tracking marketing measurement and testing disciplines.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategy, promotional development, and execution
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, listening and writing skills
  • Able to work on site in our Woonsocket, RI office.
