About the Accounting & Tax Unit Manager position

We are looking for a skilled Finance Unit Manager who will join our team and help us with analyzing our daily financial activities and develop measures and suggestions for future financial plans, presenting them to senior managers. You will be responsible for helping the company’s leaders to make efficient business decisions and meet business goals. You will also lead, oversee, and direct the Accounting, Finance, and Tax functions within the Finance unit of the Corporate Management Team as well as manage employees and control their work for continuous improvement of efficiency while maintaining a supportive working environment.

Unit Manager responsibilities are:

  • Define the Accounting & Tax related goals and objectives; establish action plans for achieving & exceeding targets through collaboration with each Team
  • Develop a full understanding of the Unit’s skill set, identify gaps, and provide development opportunities to ensure appropriate skill level for employees
  • Monitor and assess performance of staff and hold staff to operational and leadership expectations; conduct performance appraisals; take immediate actions when underperformance is identified
  • Communicate with local and global staff to ensure effective communication and understanding as well as compliance with internal and external process audits
  • Perform advanced and/or specialized work that requires comprehensive knowledge of accounting theories and principles
  • Manages and oversees quarterly and annual audits from data gathering to delivery and execution, and ensures all components of audit are completed
  • Manages and oversees quarterly and annual tax matters including sales, property and income tax returns, and correspondence with various internal and external persons in charge; ensures all items are submitted timely
  • Monitor and review all tax returns, tax adjusting entries, and other tax-related compliance issues
  • Manages Cost Accounting/Profit Analysis run on a monthly basis and ensures they are complete and accurate
  • Provides oversight and management of CO closing and audit preparation & tax preparations
  • Oversees and supports asset posting and company incentives (JTC, Tax, etc.)
  • Develop non-standard reports and statements
  • Serve as a technical advisor in accounting
  • May design an accounting information system
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Unit Manager requirements are:

Education:

  • (Required) Bachelor's degree
  • (Preferred) Accounting major preferred or advanced degree in a related field

Experience:

  • (Required) Several years of relevant experience
  • (Preferred) Previous experience in the manufacturing industry
  • (Preferred) AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants)

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
  • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
