Position Summary : Responsible for assisting the Fire Shop Manager during inspections at various locations and becoming a Certified Technician while obtaining the skills needed to inspect and maintain fire extinguishers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Inspects, recharges and replaces fire extinguishers in the shop and at customer locations.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment free from hazards.
• Breaks down and scraps expired materials from the fire extinguishers in the shop.
• Operates the Air Pressure Test Machine, the Hopper Filler and all other machinery in a safe manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office, IT and computer systems.
• Must have a working knowledge of safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be organized and detail oriented and be able to prioritize projects and duties while working in a team environment.
• Must be able to respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations.
• Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Level of Education and Experience :

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalency, and a valid, unexpired driver’s license. Certification and training provided within the company.

Frequency

• Constant: standing, walking, lifting 25 to 50 lbs., carrying <25 lbs., repetitive hand are arm movement, seeing, hearing and talking
• Occasional: reaching above the shoulder
• Frequent: driving an automobile, carrying 25 to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling, climbing stairs, working at heights and balancing, bending and twisting at the waist, kneeling, squatting and crouching
