We are recruiting for an Assistant Buyer to join the amazing Baby & Kids Bonds Retail team! We would love to talk to you if you are a Junior or Assistant Buyer seeking that elusive next step to bring you closer to a Buyer role!

This role is initially an 11 month contract.

A day in the life of

As Assistant Buyer you will work very closely with and support the Buyer in the administration of the total portfolio, with a particular focus on the Kids business.

Expect to be involved in the following :

  • range development and assortment
  • range presentations
  • New Product development
  • marketing & promotions
  • post-seasonal reviews & analysis
  • inventory & allocations

You will be assisting in decision making, analysing product ranges, building the assortment plans from the bottom up and seeing them through the season.

There is a lot of involvement with adjacent teams : Brand & Category, Design, Retail, VM, Marketing and Online, so you must be confident, have bags of initiative and super resourceful.

Forming alliances and influencing at all levels is one of your strengths, and you're able to deliver a concise yet punchy message that resonates with your audience.

  • You are currently in a Junior Buyer or Assistant Buyer role managing a large and complex category, ideally combined with some experience in planning, allocating or merchandising
  • We are looking for someone with 3-4 years' experience, and hungry for the next step this is not a role suited to someone who has already reached Buyer level
  • A love for fashion / apparel and retail in general it's got to make you tick
  • Confident, curious, and detail-orientated describe you perfectly you are nimble, can work at pace but understand the need for accuracy
  • A strong creative lens will enable you to see opportunities, make recommendations, get buy in and ultimately trade and grow your business
  • Strong experience and competency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
