Handi Craft is Hiring an Electrical Engineer - Small Appliance Design Near St. Louis, MO

General Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team, responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical and electronic components and systems for small electronic appliances for infant care. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical engineering, with a focus on designing and integrating heating elements, LCD screens, touch controls, electro-mechanical systems, and battery powered systems. In addition, the candidate should have experience in firmware and software development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for small electronic appliances, including baby bottle warmers, sterilizers, nursery products, and items with LCD control screens & App control
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, specifications, and test plans
  • Work with mechanical and design engineering teams to integrate electronic designs into physical product designs
  • Design, prototype, test, and debug electrical systems and components, including PCB layout and schematic design, analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and firmware development
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory requirements, such as UL, FCC, and CE
  • Develop and maintain product documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, and test plans
  • Stay current with the latest technologies, trends, and industry developments related to small appliance electrical design
  • Support product development and manufacturing teams by troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues during development, testing, and production phases
  • Participate in product design reviews, quality assurance testing, and product certification activities
  • Manage projects and meet deadlines to ensure timely product releases

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design and development of small electronic appliances
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, power electronics, and firmware and software development for microcontrollers and embedded systems
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, such as UL, FCC, and CE
  • Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting electrical systems and components
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Attention to detail
