Well, Handex is currently seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist who is ready to step out of the field and start focusing on project management. Position reports to our Jackson NJ location and will be hybrid (office/home).

What will be my responsibilities and objectives?

· Position will report to the Sampling PM and be instrumental in supporting remediation operations.

· Will be trained to take ownership of the sampling schedule and events in New Jersey.

· Prepare and ensure all work orders for sampling events are completed, follow-up and handle any issues/challenges as needed to meet project timelines.

· Provide assistance to the Remediation Team PMs with report writing, analysis and permitting regarding the NJDEP O&M remediation and superfund sites (water/soil/vapor treatment systems) which consists of data tabulation and review.

· Maintain all sampling inventory and place orders for rental equipment/tubing, etc., for job sites.

· Point of contact to labs and responsible for checking accuracy for equipment and bottle order deliveries are accurate.

· From time to time, will assist with field sample work as needed in NJ.

· Assigned to other projects as needed.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology or hydrogeology.

· 2 years of experience in remediation field sampling (soil/water/vapor).

· Knowledge of New Jersey (DOT & DEP) state, county, local regulations, rules, SOP’s, guidelines and safety.

· Technical writing, documentation, analysis and permitting experience a plus.

· OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification a plus.

· Proficient technical skills with a variety of software tools including Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, etc.). AutoCad knowledge a plus.

· Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and a team player with a can-do attitude.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, both with HCR employees as well as customers and regulators (comfortable in-person, via phone and/or via electronic communications) a must.

· Willingness to travel to New Jersey client locations if needed.

· Valid driver’s license in good standing.

· Ability to pass background checks: criminal/physical/drug/alcohol required.
