State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: The STNA is responsible for assisting residents and Community staff with daily living activities which may include, but are not limited to dressing, ambulating, toileting and safe transfer.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current, unencumbered state certification to practice as a STATE TESTED NURSING ASSISTANT (STNA)
• Minimum one (1) year of STNA experience required, based on state requirement.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing resident services
• Ability to compose and maintain documentation.
• Current CPR certification, based on state requirements.
• Copy of updated physical, based on state requirements.
• Copy of updated TB results/chest x-ray
• Must complete a minimum of twelve (12) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) annually

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Assist residents and nursing staff with basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding.
• Assist nursing staff with medical equipment and checking patient vitals.
• Provide residents with important social and emotional support.
• Prepare and maintain records of resident progress and services performed, reporting changes in resident condition to the manager or supervisor.
• Participate in case reviews, consulting with the care team, evaluating the resident needs and plan for continuing services.
• Other duties as assigned.
