JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining the quality standards set forth by senior management ensuring that all regulatory and compliance requirements are met related to Certificate of Deposit and Individual Retirement Arrangement accounts and protects the bank's interest by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews new account documentation for accuracy and completion. Issues document exceptions to bankers when paperwork is missing or incomplete.

  • Processes account maintenance, transfers, distributions and closures according to government regulations and Bank policies. Accurately processes and balances debits and credits using current applications

  • Researches complex transactions to aid bankers in resolving client questions or disputes

  • Monitors opening and closing of accounts to ensure adherence to Bank policy

  • Monitors contributions and distributions on client accounts in order to adhere to Federal Tax reporting requirements

  • Assists bankers in establishing beneficiary accounts to ensure adherence to the state and federal rules and regulations

  • Calculates and performs interest rate adjustments

  • Reviews year-end statements and tax reporting documentation for accuracy, making necessary corrections before mailing to client

  • Provides assistance to bankers via phone and e-mail support

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1 year experience in banking or the tax reporting industry or 2 years in I or investment sales is required

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language

  • Ability to read Individual Retirement Arrangement accounts and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra

  • Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to learn or knowledge of Outlook email program

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel such as using a computer mouse or writing and talk or hear in person or on the telephone with other employees, supervisors and in some cases the general public and board of directors. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
