Essential Duties:

Experience playing tennis in a formal setting; high school or college team experience preferred. Must be responsible and on time. Camp counselors should have experience working with children. Able to lead activities, understand the camp schedule and get some insight into child development. Must follow safety and educational procedures. Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in the tennis courts.

Ability to communicate and work with children aged 5-16 of differing skill levels and provide them with the necessary instruction. Assists supervision of campers. Teaches basic tennis skills under the instruction of the Tennis Pros.

Tennis experience is required. Must be on time and responsible for campers health and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility of safety of the campers.
• Follow camp objectives, rules, policies, guidelines and daily schedule.
• Assist staff with all camp activities.
• Serve as a positive role model for youth.
• Create new activities and games.
• Show a genuine interest in the campers.
• Problem-solve through situations and seek assistance when necessary.
• Maintain the recreation/camp center up to Pine Canyon standards.
• Welcome all club members.
• Be punctual and organized.
• Participate enthusiastically.
• Enhance and teach skills to the campers (guitar, basketball, art…).
• Attend scheduled meetings and trainings.
• Arrive on time and with a positive attitude.
• Follow directions.
• Work to ensure all youth are comfortable, safe and feel that they are included.
• Perform all other assigned duties.
• Know camper’s location at all times.

Qualifications:

Exhibit characteristics of: Leadership, enthusiasm, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, great social skills, integrity and a positive attitude.

• 18 years of age.
• Desire to work with children.
• Ability to assist in teaching an activity.
• Ability to accept guidance and supervision from staff.
