Your ROLE as a Janitor

As a Full-time Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across our various agency locations in Hampton, VA. Your tasks will include:

• Routine cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Managing waste disposal and following proper procedures for a safe workspace.
• Ensuring restroom hygiene and disinfecting surfaces.
• Handling cleaning supplies and adhering to safety protocols.
• Reporting maintenance issues promptly to maintain a pristine environment.

Your meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach will ensure our facilities remain safe and well-maintained.

Are you the IDEAL CANDIDATE?

to succeed as a Full-time Janitor at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you should have at least one year of experience in building or residential janitorial maintenance. Be familiar with tasks like sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste management, knowledge of safety guidelines for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment, strong attention to detail for maintaining restroom hygiene and disinfecting surfaces, and effective communication skills for reporting maintenance issues.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• At least one (1) year of experience in building or residential janitorial maintenance.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License
